What’s the difference between the starter kit and the Pop Palette? 😊
I’m taking the time to answer THE question!
I often get questions from aspiring artists who want to make an informed choice : Is it better to choose the starter kit or the Pop Palette for my watercolor classes? That’s a very good question. The short answer is: it depends on the artist! 😂
Let me explain.
Starter Kit
The starter kit is an affordable but high-quality option that will equip you with all the supplies you need for my classes, without breaking the bank!
The starter set contains 12 basic colors that allow you to create 144 color variations. I show you exactly how to do this in my free color chart class, if you want to go check it out!
The kit includes the 3 brushes you need for my classes, 30 sheets of watercolor paper and washi tape. It’s the perfect starter kit, in my opinion!
Yes, you get the 12 basic colors, but they are high-quality watercolors at a more accessible price than my Pop Palette. It’s the perfect choice for beginners, young artists or people on a budget. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with black. BUT, I also sell my Pop pans individually, so all you have to do is buy your black separately and use it to your heart’s content!
Pop Palette
The Pop Palette is like, well, living inside my head!
These are my 12 and 24 personal favorite blends–flashy colors that won’t allow you to create as many variations as the basic colors, but they are already stunning blends ready for use.
All you have to do is add water and you’ll end up with watercolor art as vibrant as my own! That’s a promise!
The Pop Palette comes in a practical metal case with 12 or 24 of my own signature color blends. It includes black (yay!), blush and peach tones, flashy pink, the perfect orange, a gorgeous purple, greens that are simply to die for… In short: I adore it! Haha!
The Pop Palette is made up of hand-poured watercolor half pans. It’s a slightly more expensive option than the starter set, but it’s soooo satisfying to use! It comes in a handy travel case with integrated mixing palettes. It’s a gorgeous product for those who already have a passion for watercolor and who feel like treating themselves! Or maybe you’re just getting started with watercolor but you always like to go big or go home! 😂
These half pans are also sold individually or at a special bundle price for 4 pans.
I hope this helps clarify the difference between my watercolor starter set and my Pop Palette. If you have any questions, I’m always happy to answer them!
Have you tried one of these two options? Or have you ordered both of them? (I personally find they complement each other super nicely!) Share your feedback with me!
